ADVISORY CONCERNING THE BEACH NEAR POMPANO BEACH PIER

(BROWARD COUNTY, FL)– Florida Department of Health in Broward County is recommending that people do not swim at the beach near the following location:
POMPANO BEACH PIER
Samples of beach water collected at this area did not meet recommended state requirements. All other beaches in Broward County tested satisfactory.
Certain bacteria could create unhealthy beach water conditions and may cause swimming-related gastroenteritis.
New results after retesting will be available late Tuesday afternoon, January 9, 2018, and posted athttp://www.floridahealth.gov/environmental-health/beach-water-quality/index.html.
This advisory is effective immediately and continues until further notice.
