Fort Lauderdale, FL -- The Florida Department of Health in Broward County and Tobacco Free
Florida will honor
World No Tobacco Day with a presentation and display of the harmful effects
of tobacco use and secondhand smoke exposure on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 11am to 2pm
in the main lobby at the Broward County Governmental Center – 115 S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale 33301.
World No Tobacco Day is observed annually worldwide on May 31st by the World Health
Organization(WHO) to raise awareness on the dangers of tobacco and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form. The campaign also serves as a call to action to reduce tobacco
consumption and engage stakeholders across multiple sectors in the fight against tobacco. This year’s focus is on
TOBACCO AND LUNG HEALTH.
If you smoke, or if a loved one smokes, the Florida Department of Health’s Tobacco Free Florida Quit Your Way program offers free and proven-effective resources to help you get started.
