Miami, FL - The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade
and Broward Counties will be part of the “Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America” Initiative. On October 1, 2019 the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through the Centers for Disease Control(CDC), awarded funding to 32 state and local health departments around the country for the development of comprehensive “Ending the HIV Epidemic” jurisdictional plans. The proposed federal initiative seeks to reduce new HIV infections in America by 90% by 2030. Plans will be based upon a national framework that identified the highest-impact HIV prevention, care, treatment, and outbreak response strategies.
