The Florida Department of Health in Broward County has a leadership role in coordinating, hosting and participating in a diverse group of community coalitions.
The Broward County Breastfeeding Coalition is a countywide multidisciplinary group of individuals, businesses and organizations with the mission: to improve the health of Broward County residents by working collaboratively to protect, promote and support breastfeeding. The coalition provides a forum for individuals and organizations to work together to increase Broward County's rates of initiation and duration of breastfeeding. Florida Department of Health in Broward County Outreach Planning Group
The OPG is a community group led by DOH-Broward, with members from local governments, community agencies, volunteer groups, for-profit companies and non-profit organizations. These organizations work together to showcase health-related resources and services, and to coordinate educational and outreach activities. OPG meets monthly; everyone is welcome. The Tobacco Free Partnership of Broward County is a coalition organized to improve the health of persons in Broward County by reducing/eliminating tobacco use.
