Broward County Prevention Planning Partnership

Florida Department of Health in Broward County

Prevention Planning

The primary focus of the Broward County HIV Prevention Planning Council (BCHPPC) is high-impact prevention efforts that target the highest risk populations.  The work of the council is based on the vision that the best way to respond to the HIV epidemic is through local decision making.  The BCHPPC is comprised of 21 appointed voting members.  The BCHPPC structure includes an Executive Team, High Impact Prevention Team, Epidemiology/Research Team, Policy Team as well as six (6) Advisory Groups representing the disproportionately affected populations. To inquire about joining an advisory group, please call (954) 467-4700 ext. 4991. In alignment with the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, the BCHPPC has developed the Broward County Jurisdictional Prevention Plan 2012-2016.

Broward County is becoming a community with a collaborative and coordinated system of HIV Prevention and Care. Under the Leadership of DOH-Broward, Ryan White Part A Grantee Office and Broward County Public Schools, the development of the prevention, care and treatment integrated strategic plan has begun.  The “Collective Impact” approach to integration has been recognized nationally as a best practice.
