The Florida Department of Health in Broward County provides free confidential HIV testing directly through partner agencies. In addition, DOH-Broward provides presentations (HIV 101), trainings (HIV 500 and 501, and rapid testing technology), technical assistance and monitoring of regisitered HIV testing sites througout Broward County. The HIV 500 and 501 courses are required, per FDOH: IOP 360-07-20 “Minimum Standards for HIV Counselors, Trainers, and Early Intervention Consultants”, to become a HIV counselor.
