DOH-Broward Issues Rabies Alert

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.—The Florida Department of Health in Broward County (DOH-Broward) is
issuing a rabies alert in Broward County in response to a confirmed case of rabies in a raccoon
that was killed in the Davie area off I-595 in Broward County on September 16, 2025. Residents
and visitors should be aware that rabies is currently present in the wild animal population.
