DOH Health Fair at Save-a-Lot

(FORT LAUDERDALE) – The Florida Department of Health in Broward County and Save-a-Lot food stores invite the community to a free health fair and family fun event on Saturday, May 16, 2015. The Health Fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Save-a-Lot store located at 510 NW Seventh Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.

The community is encouraged to come and explore the many public health services offered in Broward County, learn safety tips from Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Rescue Departments, sign up for Florida KidCare Health Insurance, enjoy music, kids face-painting, and fun games with a limited number of
free bicycle helmets given away as prizes. Free HIV testing and hepatitis screenings will also be available. Women should pre-register early for Free Mammograms by calling (954) 762-3649.

“We applaud our partners at Save-a-Lot for helping us bring these important services to our residents and visitors,” said Dr. Paula Thaqi, Director, Florida Department of Health in Broward County.

  • Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program
  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition assistance and breastfeeding support program
  • Immunization services for Children and Adults
  • Free Quit Smoking Program
  • Children’s Dental Services
  • Family Planning Services
  • Healthy Eating and Exercise information
