The Florida Department of Health in Broward County (DOH-Broward) conducts an extensive HIV/AIDS program which includes HIV/AIDS Surveillance, HIV/AIDS Prevention, and HIV/AIDS Patient Care. DOH-Broward works collaboratively with our community partners to ensure that there is a system of care for prevention, care, and treatment.
The Florida Department of Health has implemented four key components to reduce rates of new HIV infection in Broward County and in Florida.
The four components are:
- Routine Testing in the health care setting and targeted testing in non-health care settings
- Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
