The Florida Department of Health in Broward County Perinatal Prevention Program works to prevent the transmission of HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B during pregnancy and delivery. Program services include intensive case management of pregnant women to ensure adherence to recommended treatment regimens and follow-up and case management of newborns.
Additionally, the Program includes leadership of the Perinatal HIV Providers Network, outreach to the community and healthcare providers promoting routine testing for HIV, Hepatitis B and Syphilis in the first and third trimesters of pregnancy and working with labor and delivery hospitals to ensure that the most updated intra-partum and post-partum protocols are in use.
If you are pregnant and HIV-positive please call the Perinatal Director to assist you with care and treatment, at 954-847-8134.
