Florida Department of Health in Broward County

Contact

The Florida Department of Health in Broward County (DOH-Broward) provides free, confidential HIV testing through partner agencies. Everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 should have an HIV test in their lifetime. Those with ongoing risks should be tested more frequently, as should pregnant women, who should be tested in their first and third trimesters.

Talk with your health care provider or locate a testing site near you by visiting KnowYourHIVStatus.com.

Do you provide HIV testing? Learn about consent requirements, model protocols and more in our Counseling and Testing Resources.

DOH-Broward provides presentations, trainings (HIV 500 and 501, and rapid testing technology), technical assistance and monitoring of registered HIV testing sites throughout Broward County. The HIV 500 and 501 courses are required, per the Florida Department of Health: IOP 360-07-20 “Minimum Standards for HIV Counselors, Trainers, and Early Intervention Consultants,” to become an HIV counselor.
