Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a nutrition program that provides healthy foods for pregnant women through six weeks after birth or after the pregnancy ends, breastfeeding women up to the infant’s first birthday, non-breastfeeding women up to six months postpartum or after the pregnancy ends, and children up to 5 years of age plus helpful nutrition information-all at no cost for those who qualify. WIC also offers breastfeeding support and referrals to health care, immunizations, and other community services

WIC services are provided at various DOH-Broward health centers and several other locations.

Am I eligible for WIC?

You can apply for WIC as soon as you know you are pregnant.

To be eligible for WIC, you must meet the WIC income guidelines.

If you are currently receiving Medicaid, Temporary Cash Assistance or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, you are automatically eligible. However, you do not have to be on any of these programs to meet WIC income eligibility requirements.

  • You must be living in the state of Florida.
  • Citizenship is not required.

Breastfeeding Services

WIC provides breastfeeding support and education through individual counseling, peer support, and education classes. WIC provides a 24/7 breastfeeding support line for WIC clients. Please call 954-467-4511.
